The result is Khoo’s most heartfelt and heartwarming movie to date.  It is also the most sophisticated piece of film-making to emerge from the Republic’s budding film scene. Due to the content of 15 directed by Royston Tan, 15 is banned from being screened in Singapore. Naturally, media representations for this film is almost zero even though it participated in many film festivals and received great reviews. The above article is from TIME magazine.

During the research, I also came upon this website with lots of behind the scenes pictures as well as information about 15, but unfortunately in the states. Seeing how the posters are being put up in the US, it is pretty upsetting to know that a Singapore film so close and personal is ban locally. I am happy I managed to catch 15 my own way.

On a personal note, I clearly remember I turned 15 around the year 15 was released and I really wanted to watch it then. But I wasn’t as resourceful and really, there is no way I could have watched it at that time. Neither have I seen any of the limited edition Singapore posters around. I was looking forward to having maybe a censored version being available in the Cinemas and it just didn’t happen.
